Why a Neuropsychologist?

Concussions are not like any other injury.  They impact how we feel physically, cognitively, and emotionally. Unlike more severe traumatic brain injuries, there is no medical test available to help with diagnosis and they do not normally require any medical intervention. The training and expertise required to become a board certified neuropsychologist is a perfect match for the diagnosis, evaluation and treatment of concussion because of how the injury impacts how we think, feel, and act. When combined with the expertise of a Sports Medicine physician, no part of your injury will go without state of the art care.

Why a Sports Medicine Physician?

A sports medicine physician specializes in the health and well-being of athletes and is an expert in the non-surgical management and treatment of all sport related injuries.

In addition to the normal sprains, strains, tears, bumps, and bruises an athlete can suffer in their lifetime, frequently there are physical injuries that occur at the same time as a concussion.  It is not uncommon for these injuries to last longer, and be more problematic, than the concussion. Dr. Trigger is able to treat all of your injuries and get you back to school, work, and play as quickly and safely as possible!

Why Physical Therapy?

As we all know, when you hit your head, other things can get injured as well! Many patients who are injured playing sports, in car accidents, or when falling, can present with injuries to many different parts of their bodies.  Over the years, we have found that symptoms of neck injuries and symptoms of inner-ear injuries are very common reasons we see patients in our clinic.  In fact, concussions, inner-ear injuries, and neck injuries can all present with similar, and sometimes identical symptoms!  Determining which injury is causing your discomfort is the most important part of getting back to normal.
